About our handmade jewelry...
Our jewelry creations are made with a tasteful combination of gems, stones and pendants. All silver clasps, earring wires, and accents are sterling. The product designs are conceived individually and made by hand by Creations by Molly.
Gems and Minerals in our Jewelry Products...
Gems and minerals are primarily identified in terms of color (obviously), or in terms of their constituent elements. There are also many beliefs and theories which can be attributed to each stone. Some of these aspects are summarized below.
- Amazonite - A type of feldspar, usually turquoise in color, sometimes found with yellow, white, or grey portions. It is thought to soothes the emotional processes, dispelling negative energy. Universal love is manifested and retained through this stone.
- Amethyst - A variety of quartz which occurs in crystalline or massive form, with color ranging from deep purple to pale lavender. It is thought to balance the intellectual, emotional, and physical. It can bestow stability, strength, invigoration, and peace.
- Apatite - The mineral occurs with colors of yellow, white, olive green, deep blue, purple, brown, red/brown, or is sometimes colorless. It is believed to be related to service and to the development of humanitarian pursuits, and to the enhancement of creativity.
- Chalcedony, Blue & Green - A member of the quartz family, sometimes containing a small amount of opal. Types include agate, carnelian, jasper, and onyx. It was used as a sacred stone by Native Americans during ceremonial activities. It is thought to encourage brotherhood.
- Coral - The sea is its origin and it technically is the vacation housing of a marine animal. Color ranges from black to pink to red to white to blue. It is thought to balance emotions and bring peace within one's self.
- Emeralds - A form of beryl that crystallizes with the structure of prismatic crystals, sometimes with small pyramid-like faces. It is known as a 'stone of successful love'. It is thought to facilitate intensity and a focus on one's actions.
- Iolite - Crystals are in the form of masses, grains, and short prismatic crystals. Colors range from blue to brown to yellow to dark violet to grey to green. Metamorphic changes can occur during formation that create grey-green, green-grey, or brown-grey coloring. It is called the 'violet stone'.
- Jade, Serpentine & White - Occurs at jadeite, transvaal jade, and nephrite. It is known as a 'dream stone' and a 'stone of fidelity'. It is thought to improve dream memory and dream-solving.
- Moonstone - Found in the orthoclase and albite minerals, both members of the feldspar group. A major characteristic is a milky-sheen in its appearance. It is thought that the energy of moonstone relates to 'new beginnings'.
